Hand made greeting cards for all occasions

We are always learning new techniques and new ways to do cards and make them more interesting. Our favorites the past several years have been cards that move or contain surprises. We’ve also found new tools that add interest to both the card covers and the insides. We hope you like some of these that we have been working on.

This ferris wheel pops up from the inside of a card when it is opened up. The wheel actually moves around and the gondola cars dangle from each level.

Fancy cut out designs and embossed images always add extra interest. A few pearl beads for even more excitement and we have awesome new cards for friends and family.

We also found some wonderful dies that require some assembly of small pieces, but they make some of the most elegant cards! It’s almost like playing paper dolls.

Cards with textures are fun, cards that have 3 dimensional aspects to them are even more fun. They always add an element of surprise and discovery as the receiver opens them.

Below is one of the most involved and fun cards Joanie ever made. It was for Ray’s birthday and it took her a couple weeks to do all the different components. She had to work on in mostly while Ray was busy in other parts of the house so he didn’t see what she was working on. It’s called an explosion box, and when it is opened each side of the box has at least two different small cards that open up to display messages or interactive cards.

This card has a slot that acts as a “lock”. The butterfly is attached to the inside card, but when the wings are folded, they pass through the slot and the card opens up to display the butterfly and the message inside.

Some cards have special folds that help reveal the message inside. Most of these require gluing accent pieces over the main part of the card to add to the accented part of the design.

This card opens like a camera lens when the sides are folded out to show the design inside.

This little box is flat inside the card, but when the ribbon is pulled the box pops up and becomes 3 dimensional.
